The Lemon and Salt Cleansing Bath

A purifying bath ritual using sliced lemons, sea salt, and warm water to draw out illness, fatigue, and stagnant energy from the body. Soak by candlelight while visualizing impurities dissolving away.
Level Intermediate
Time 30-45 minutes
Moon Full Moon or Waning Moon
What You Will Need
One or two fresh lemons
Sliced into rounds. Lemons are powerful purifiers that cut through stagnant energy, negativity, and spiritual heaviness.
Sea salt or coarse salt
About half a cup. Salt has been used for protection and purification in every spiritual tradition across the world.
Warm bathwater
Fill your tub to a comfortable level. If you do not have a tub, prepare a large bowl to pour over yourself in the shower.
A white candle
To light beside the bath. White represents purity, healing, and a clean slate.
A towel you do not mind getting lemon-scented
For drying off gently after the bath. Choose a light-colored towel if possible.
Moon Phase & Timing
Cleansing baths are acts of release and renewal. The moon phase determines whether you emphasize letting go or inviting freshness in.
Full Moon: Bathe on the full moon for a complete reset — maximum cleansing power to strip away anything that does not serve your health.
Waning Moon: The ideal phase for a cleansing bath. As the moon diminishes, so does the negativity and illness you are washing away.
Sunday: The sun's day adds light, vitality, and life force to a healing bath. A Sunday during the waning moon is deeply restorative.
